This page will act as an indicator of progress / projects that I’d like to work on in the future.
Initial Flightmap - 02SEP2022
As of this writing, at 20:47 ET the blog is live; however there’s only a single post and an About page. Whenever I decide to wrap up work for the night, this Flightmap will be published.
Updates since first flight
Various stock images that came with the Jekyll template have been replaced with images created via the midjourney bot. The bot truly makes the site feel so much better.
Almost flight worthy
A post on “How to buy a domain” is nearly finished. Currently there are no screenshots, and the article is written in a way that explains their absence. However I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out how to make images work so we’ll see. At the end of the day I’m prioritizing getting things that I’ve finished down and documented ahead of everything else.
Hatching
Work is active on a post about setting up Jekyll on your local computer. It does however currently have a cheat built in due to my purchase of a template site vs generating one from scratch, as well as having access to GitKraken. Again documenting how I’ve done things, and making progress takes priority. But this is an important thing to get down.
Gestating
- Rethinking the whole nomenclature of this page.
- Create a Netlify post
On the radar
About the site page
At some point I should create a robust “about the site” page that explains that most images are created via midjourney, the site is based on a template that was purchased, that Netlify is used to build the site and deploy it up, and that the source is tracked via a private git repo.
See how that was all just spit out? That’s an awful way to communicate! That’s why it’s on the Flightmap.
Additional topics
So far this blog has a rather obvious flightpath of explaining how it was created, and how someone can create their own blog in a similar fashion. But that process can’t go on forever and we’re going to need some more topics.
